Gone to any awesome events lately? And, more importantly, have you had the chance to brag about it yet? Here's a cool idea by one of the most popular bands today, Kings of Leon, as they give their fans a chance to prove their concert attendance. They've launched a web application that allow people to find themselves in super hi-resolution photos from their Hyde Park gigs. The photos are so detailed that you can zoom to see who's taking a call right at the back of the crowd.
The photos, which were taken over the two nights that Kings of Leon played, almost captures all of the 120,000 fans that went along. Fans can log on to the band's website to explore the crowd in amazing detail, then 'tag' and 'share' their find on Facebook and Twitter. You can also see which friends are tagged in the photos.
The Green Room Verdict: Gaining publicity through individual 'sharing' on people's social media accounts is not a new concept, but using this in conjunction with these amazingly detailed photographs is a cool idea (especially with a band as trendy as these guys – plenty of people will want to make it known that they were present at these massive gigs). It's also fun for people who didn't attend to have a look around. However, the amount of people 'tagged' in the images do hinder loading time, which is a bit off-putting.
