Face recognition software will help you find 'the one'

There's a perfect dog for everyone. Well, that's what Pedigree think, and to help you find your perfect doggy match they've launched the new 'Doggleganger' website. While the notion of dogs looking like their owners is a topic that's often talked or joked about, the idea behind Doggleganger is that you can find a dog that already looks like you – and better yet, they are dogs from shelters that are needing a new home.

Using facial recognition software, the website finds a dog from a database of adoptable companions that matches the photo that you upload. Once your face has been analyzed it shows your match with a brief description about your potential pooch. You can then get the warm fuzzies (literally) by heading down to the animal shelter and picking up your match – a very cute idea!

The Green Room Verdict: We understand that adopting a pet from a shelter is seen as a noble and good thing to do, but we just can't get past the fact that this is supported by a dog food company (obviously the more dogs people have, the more dog food will need to be bought). The face recognition software is a bit of fun to use though, even if you aren't looking for a canine friend. Who knows – maybe you'll be swayed by your Doggleganger?
