UNICEF encourages you to donate your mistakes
Thank goodness for spell check – a handy little application that most of us use on a day-to-day basis. Now, thanks to a great idea by students at the Miami Ad School, UNICEF's "Donate A Word" campaign means that even more people will be thanking spell check for its service.
By utilising the Google Chrome spell check feature, "Donate A Word" works its magic every you try and correct a word you have miss-spelt. When you right click the spelling error, a prompt comes up to donate to children in need of education through UNICEF. After donating, your spelling mistake is added to a pool of other miss-spelt words to create the word 'EDUCATION'.
The Green Room Verdict: This a great example of the power of partnerships – harnessing the support of other brands for mutual benefit. We have a feeling that the word 'EDUCATION' will fill up with donated words pretty fast, so perhaps this word should be exchanged with a sentence for campaign longevity. Very clever!
